About Fitrana

Sadaqah al-Fitr (Fitrana) is a charity given by every Muslim before the Eid al-Fitr prayer, on behalf of each member of the household including children. It is traditionally measured as one sa' (about 2 kg of wheat, or roughly 3 kg of barley, dates or raisins) of a staple food, or its cash value. The Prophet ﷺ made it obligatory as reported in Sahih al-Bukhari, to purify the fasting person and feed the needy. Pay it before the Eid prayer so it reaches those in need in time.
